Food and drink educator Alison Taffs is back to host our new monthly wine event. Alison has a passion in helping people to discover delicious new tastes.

This month, Alison and chef sommelier Alis Jusic will introduce you to everything you ever wanted to know about bubbles….learning the difference between Prosecco, Cava, English and other sparkling wines and how the bubbles get in. Discover the difference between the major styles of champagne and which sparkling wine to choose for which occasion.

The evening will be intimate, relaxed, fun and informative, and with around 10 wines to taste, you are sure to be taken out of your normal quaffing comfort zone!

Effervescence has been observed in wine throughout history and has been noted by Ancient Greek and Roman writers but the cause of this mysterious appearance of bubbles was not understood. Over time it has been attributed to phases of the moon as well as both good and evil spirits.
