Neither Bartoli nor Lisicki is a household name...so here's some info about this year's finalists:
Marion Bartoli is the current French no. 1. She was the runner-up at the 2007 Wimbledon Championships and a semi-finalist at the 2011 French Open.
Bartoli has defeated three reigning world no. 1 players in her career so far. She defeated Justine Henin in the semifinal of the 2007 Wimbledon Championships, Jelena Janković in the fourth round of the 2009 Australian Open, and Victoria Azarenka in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open.
She is known for her unorthodox style of play using two hands on both her forehand and backhand. On 30 January 2012 she rose to a new career high ranking of no. 7 in the world. Bartoli has reached at least the quarter-final stage at each of the four Grand Slams.
Sabine Lisicki is a German. Her breakthrough came in 2009 when she reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships, She suffered an ankle injury at the Indian Wells Masters that kept her out of competition for five months and saw her fall out of the top 100. She rebounded in 2011 and won the Aegon Classic before entering the Wimbledon Championships as a wildcard and going on to reach the semifinals, where she lost to Maria Sharapova. In doing so she became only the second woman in Wimbledon history to make it to the semifinals while entering the tournament as a wildcard. In 2012, she achieved her career-highest ranking, 12th, and again reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships. Again, in 2012 she suffered from another left ankle injury that prevented her from having better results on tour.
The Raj Tent will open at 12 noon. No reservations taken.
