DETAILS

Expired

EVENT INFORMATION

When the notorious Elizabeth, Countess of Home had a vision in 1775 to build a sophisticated ‘Pavilion’ for the purpose of enjoyment and entertainment, we can imagine the kind of ladies that she wished to attract. Independent.

Passionate. Fun. Fast-forward 244 years and we meet some of today’s ladies of the House in our monthly social ‘Ladies of the House’. Hosted by Lindsay Boyd of award-winning marketing agency, Banbury Howard who will be in discussion with this month’s lady, Charlotte Grobien.

About Charlotte

Charlotte Grobien OBE is the founder and CEO of Give It Away Ltd which she started 11 years ago.

Charlotte has made £1.7 million out of London and Surrey’s housing market – and donated it all to charity. Give It Away is a commercial venture which sets out to make a difference to the lives of young people living with injury, disability or disadvantaged circumstances. Her road to social entrepreneurship began after a long business career during which she set up a successful conference management company, Forum Communications. After selling out in the recession of the late Eighties, Charlotte embarked on charity work as a business adviser for Young Enterprise, a teen mentoring project, and taught business skills to Wandsworth Prison inmates before establishing Give It Away by building 3 new houses in Putney, thankfully selling them before the property recession of 2008 and donating all the profits.

She has close working relationships with the pro bono team who assist her professionally and with the Charities that she decides to support, regularly helping them plan events and speaking as an ambassador for them at fund raising occasions

Cost: £5 member, £10 guest (all monies to our charity, Save the Children UK)
