EVENT INFORMATION
Our merry group of bookworms discuss this month’s title over wine and canapés in the relaxing
environment of the Etruscan Room.
This month’s title is ‘The Epic of Gilgamesh’.
About the book:
This ancient Sumerian poem is one of the oldest written stories in existence. Miraculously preserved
on clay tablets dating back to around 4,000 years. Alongside its themes of family, friendship and
duties of kings, the story is, above all, about mankind’s struggle with the fear of death.
No RSVP, complimentary for members and up to 3 guests.
Time/Location: 7.45pm, Etruscan Room
