Art Society: The Art of Russia
EVENT INFORMATION
A century after the 1917 October Revolution, this turning point in Russian history remains a major event in modern consciousness.
We are delighted to be working again with the London Art Salon who has invited the curator of the
upcoming Royal Academy landmark exhibition Revolution: Russian Art 1917 – 1932, Dr Natalia Murray, to look at the role of art in a classless society without an art market.
Against the background of Russian Modernists Chagall, Kandinsky and Malevich, she answers the question: was art useful for the revolution or was the revolution useful for art?
Cost: £5 members, £10 guests (all monies to our charity TACT, The Adolescent and Children’s Trust)
Time/Location: 7.00pm, House Lounge
Please note that due to limited availability, the event is restricted to member + 1 guest.
Due to the popularity of our events, we are unable to offer refunds.
