Home House was also the French Embassy in exile during the Revolution and leased to the Marquis de la Luzerne in the 1790s. The room is named after the diplomat, with wallpaper from an 18th century silk pattern and a generous half tester bed.

Named after the ‘Queen of Hell’ herself, the Lady Elizabeth features a generous half tester bed and sumptuous Gainsborough silk curtains, sourced from one of the few traditional weavers left in England. The room is complete with an original fireplace and reclaimed chandelier.

The spacious Isobel bedroom features a chintz upholstered sleigh bed and a beautifully furnished bathroom. Quite simply a room for those who value their privacy without compromising their surroundings.

Mr Bulmer’s boasts a sweeping bay window overlooking The Garden and features a supremely comfortable mahogany bed. A period country-scene mural completes the room, leading to the bathroom screened from the bedroom.

The Lady Susan Thorpe is decorated with sweet pea design wallpaper and a cream upholstered grand sleigh bed. The bathroom is equally bright, cheerfully decorated with period patterned tiles, featuring an enclosed bath embellished with marine life taps.

INFORMATION
Mr Fredrick’s is known as the writer’s room, as some of Hollywood’s biggest film scores and scripts were penned here. There must be something about the subtle ruby red and light heritage green décor that creates a restful refuge for the writer in residence for many a night. This room can also be booked to adjoin Sir Francis Goldsmid’s room.

The Lady Charlotte features expansive Georgian sash windows, allowing light to flood in. There is a cosy sitting area with a beautiful fireplace, in keeping with the period. Bold vertical stripped wallpaper in shades of gold, ochre and pewter give the room a regal ambience.
