EVENT INFORMATION

We are delighted to welcome David Coubrough to discuss his own journey to discovering like all of us ‘he had a book inside of him’.  Hear how he found the inspiration to start writing and planning the story during a poignant time in his life.

About the book

St Ives, Cornwall, 1972: A group of families get together on holiday, but their vacation is devastated by a poisoning, a drowning and a cryptic cover-up. Seventeen-year-old Grant Morrison has long been preoccupied by the murky past, and, more than forty years on, he heads back to the West Country to shed light on the bizarre and tragic events of that summer…

About the author

David Coubrough founded the specialist hospitality firm Portfolio Recruitment in the 1980s and twice sold it to public companies, on the second occasion becoming chief executive of the PLC.  He is on the board of governors of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and is a past chairman of Bespoke Hotels and the Castle Hotel at Taunton.  He is a director of Maldon Sea Salt and is on the board of Bloomsbury Properties.  He co-owns the Beehive pub and restaurant in Berkshire and is currently working on his second novel.
